CHARPENTIER Philippe, painting, permanent artist of Galerie Capazza since 1991

« The explosion and the tumult of colors reflect the abundance of life in Charpentier's paintings. Very colorful, but not devoid of forms, this painting is a permanent fireworks, sometimes in warm colors, sometimes in blues and greens, or in a mixture of both. Far from the opposition of the figurative and the abstract, it does not allow itself to be shut up in any formula, in the wide variety of acrylics on canvas, gouaches, pastels or watercolors. To this is added the enchantment of the titles of the paintings that make us travel sometimes closer to the volcanoes.
The eye of the painter sparkles and this is reflected in the richness of colors and shapes, in the blaze or efflorescence of sketched and colored figures. The shapes are taken in colors instead of the colors simply filling the shapes. The palette is often incandescent, evoking the big cats. The composition is discrete, but it is there, in paintings at the limit of the figurative.
Charpentier's painting is a concentrate on the history of painting and pictorial tendencies. She is also pure energy and lively creation. »

Christiane Chauviré - Philosopher

Biography

Born in Paris in 1949.

After management studies in Paris-Dauphine, (69/70/71) he dedicates himself to Jazz music (drums) for a decade (1970-80).

He works painting and engraving with Henri Goetz from 1975 to 1980, and then dedicates himself to painting.

First solo show in 1981 at Galerie Peinture Fraîche (rue de Bourgogne in Paris)

Realized about 150 solo shows.
